Maryland's 2025 name list has a new girls' leader: Ailany, with 225 babies, up 47 places from 2024.
Liam leads the boys with 463 babies and Noah follows with 377, both holding their places from last year. Lucas (221) and Theodore (214) each climbed into the top four, and Thiago's rise lands him at No. 10 with 168. James slid six spots to ninth with 180.
On the girls' side, Charlotte holds second with 222 babies, unchanged from 2024, with Olivia and Mia close behind her. Eliana jumped seven places to sixth with 206, while Emma fell four spots to seventh and Zoe dropped four to tenth with 158.
Read together, the two lists lean on classics that never seem to leave — Charlotte, Olivia, Emma and Amelia for girls, Liam, Noah, William, Henry and Ethan for boys — alongside newer favorites like Ailany, Eliana and Thiago working their way up. Short, punchy picks such as Zoe and Mia sit comfortably beside longer, softer ones like Isabella and Theodore.
