Mia tops New Mexico's 2025 girls' list with 66 babies, and Sophia and Olivia sit just one behind at 65 apiece.

The top of the list leans heavily on soft, vowel-rich names that end in -a, from Camila and Eliana to Isabella and Aurora, and it's tight: only 21 babies separate first place from the tie at ninth. A handful of names hold their ground without budging, Mia among them, while Sofia climbs five spots into fourth and Eliana rises four into sixth.

Further down is where the movement gets dramatic. Sienna leaps 225 places to land at 44, and Ailani climbs 242 to reach 69 — the two biggest jumps on the chart. Hannah rises 200 into that same 69th slot, Valeria gains 147 to 82, Alora jumps 122 to 52, and Maya climbs 69 to 37. It's a mix of sleek two-syllable choices and names with Spanish roots, alongside nature-tinged picks like Iris, Hazel, Willow and Ember that keep gaining ground.

The fallers tell the other side of the story: Amaya drops 54 places, Genesis 33 and Leah 31, with Mila, Victoria and Natalia each sliding more than two dozen spots. Yet the vintage revival is clearly still alive here — Eleanor, Stella, Daisy and Ruby all appear — and unisex-leaning favorites like Avery, Riley and Madison hold their own in a list where the classics and the newcomers are separated by just a handful of births.
